The Green Economy Vision (GEV) initiative was started in early 2023 to address the gaps in actionable carbon emission reduction targets in the transport sector of Micronesia and to support the acceleration of green technology introduction and capacity transfer for governments, the business sector, civil society, and communities.
GEV Goal:
Instigate the eventual rapid uptake of EV, RE, and
climate-smart technology in all sectors of the FSM and at all levels.
GEV Component Pillars:
Pillar 1: Raise awareness of the benefits of e-mobility and battery technologies
and tools.
Pillar 2: Secure private and public financing to the GEV through core
partnerships.
Pillar 3: Identify ‘early adopters’ to pilot and demonstrate proven, robust EV and
RE technologies.
Pillar 4: Promote “green growth” throughout the FSM economy through the
introduction of green tech, and support of quality well-paying jobs for all.
Pillar 5: Advocate for national, state, and municipal policy and regulatory
frameworks that incentivize decarbonization of island economies.
